WHEREAS, the Health and Wellness Ministry of the Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church is a ministry that aims to educate its congregation and the surrounding community concerning issues of health and wellness. These teachings are based on the belief that maintaining health, regardless of age, will allow the community to improve the body, mind, and spirit; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Health and Wellness Ministry is to provide whole person health through education, referrals, advocacy and consultation, and, to "
reach every generation, grow every disciple to maturity, celebrate belonging with all and partner with our neighbors, as we foster holistic health and generate new vistas of Health Ministry according to the teachings of Jesus Christ"; and
WHEREAS, The Health and Wellness Ministry of the Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church is presenting a Health Fair for members and neighboring communities on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 8:30am to 3:00pm. The theme for this year is, "Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth".

Now, Therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby applaud and acknowledge the Health and Wellness Ministry for its commitment to ensure the wellbeing and future of our communities; and
Be It Further Resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim Thursday, April 22, 2010 to be designated, "Health and Wellness Ministry of the Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church" day in the City of Pittsburgh.
