WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Public Theater Corporation is a non-profit organization that is a member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT), a national association of non-profit professional theaters, and a constituent of Theatre Communications Group (TCG), a national service organization for the nonprofit professional theater; and
WHEREAS, it is Pittsburgh Public Theater's mission to provide artistically diverse theatrical experiences of the highest quality; and
WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Public Theater Corporation desires to hold a raffle with a total value of $25,000 in prizes in conjunction with a fund-raising gala at the new Fairmont Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh on May 1, 2010, in order to raise funds to support the programming and operations of the organization.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes the Pittsburgh Public Theater Corporation to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
