Title
Resolution amending Resolution No. 670 of 2008, to permit $7,000 already transferred to the District 9 Crime Trust Fund to now be used as additional funding for the City's previously authorized Professional Services Agreement with Professor David Kennedy for consulting services on the Pittsburgh Initiative to Reduce Crime (PIRC).

Whereas, pursuant to Resolutions 556 of 2008, 14 of 2009, 623 of 2009, and 624 of 2009, City Council previously authorized the Mayor and the Directors of Public Safety and City to enter into professional services agreements with the University of Pittsburgh and Professor David Kennedy to assist with designing and implementing the Pittsburgh Initiative to Reduce Crime (PIRC); and
Whereas, the original total amount was not to exceed $200,000 for both agreements; and
Whereas, it has since been determined that a total of $207,000 is needed for both agreements to cover business expenses for Professor Kennedy; and
Whereas, the amount of $7,000 to cover these additional expenses was previously transferred to the District 9 Trust Fund and is currently available for this purpose.
Be it resolved that the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Directors of the Departments of Public Safety and City Planning and the City Clerk are authorized to use Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) from the District 9 Crime Trust Fund (organization 101200, subclass 600, account 481120, fund 7325, budget year 2010) as additional funding to cover business expenses for the City's previously approved contract with Professor David Kennedy for consulting services on the Pittsburgh Initiative to Reduce Crime. This additional amount raises the cumulative total compensation for the City's agreement with Professor Kennedy to an amount not to exceed Sixty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($67,000).
