Title: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, commend Marilyn Kautz for her three decades of dedication, compassion and devotion to the participants of the Allentown Senior Citizen Centers and wishes her a long and happy retirement filled with good health, friends, family and laughter. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, hereby, proclaim Monday, February 22, 2010 to be “Marilyn Kautz Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Marilyn Kautz began her career at the Allentown Senior Citizen Centers, as the Program Coordinator on June 16, 1980; and
WHEREAS, on January 29, 2010, Marilyn retired after nearly thirty years of coordinating day-to-day activities, encouraging center participants to lead fulfilling, active lives and arranging holiday parties, trips, fund raisers, special events and speakers at both the Hilltop and Henry Kaufmann Centers; and
WHEREAS, all of this has been so much more than a job for Marilyn, she has celebrated births, provided solace during illness, mourned deaths and become a member of countless families and treasured friend to so many; and
WHEREAS, now that she is retired, Marilyn will have more time to spend with her husband, Rich; two daughters, DawnMarie and Debbie; son Marty; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
