WHEREAS, Kamren Mitchell belongs to Troop 710 of the Boy Scouts of America Laurel Highlands Division and has completed all requirements necessary for Eagle Scout recognition, the highest rank in Scouting; and,

WHEREAS, for his final service project, Kamren updated the activities room at The Salvation Army Corps Westside, which consisted of scraping, repairing and painting the room walls; and,
WHEREAS, Kamren has been a part of troop 66 since a tiger cub and obtained Eagle badge with Troop 710. He has held leadership positions of Troop Assistant Patrol Leader and Eagle Project Manager and he attended the National Boy Scouts of America Jamboree of the World; and,
WHEREAS, Kamren’s extensive volunteerism includes, but is not limited to, caroling to special needs residents and an assisted living home, Sheraden Park Clean Up, Salvation Army Westside Corps’ Emergency Food Pantry, Food Bank, holiday kettle fundraiser, and Earth Day Event, and helped organize a Block Party for the Westside community. In 2021 and 2023, he lead the Juneteenth Parade with his troop; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Kamren Mitchell for his outstanding achievement of attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, December 16, 2023 to be “Eagle Scout Kamren Mitchell Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
