Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby commend and congratulate The Priory Fine Pastries on five successful years in Deutschtown / East Allegheny, and wishes the Graf family and Master Baker McMillen many more successful years.

WHEREAS, when Ed, Mary Ann and John Graf purchased a building at 528 East Ohio St. in the National Register District of Deutschtown in 2003, they considered businesses that would help add to the uniqueness of the Priory Hotel and Grand Hall banquet facility; and
 
WHEREAS, Ed and Mary Ann, noting that a baked-goods shop was lacking in the area, decided to open a pastry shop to serve the local families and businesses, and the Priory Fine Pastries was born; and
 
WHEREAS, Priory Fine Pastries engaged Master Baker, Darrin McMillen, who had the skill and experience to operate an upscale shop and quickly added two more bakers; and
 
WHEREAS, Priory Fine Pastries' philosophy is to treat customers as friends and provide top quality products, including its NorthSider Cupcake, which features chocolate cake and peanut butter fudge filling laced with bits of Clark bar; and
 
WHEREAS, Priory Fine Pastries celebrated its Fifth Anniversary on November 23, 2009;
