WHEREAS, on November 20, 2009, AcoustiCafe is releasing its first CD, a compilation of 18 live performances; and
WHEREAS, AcoustiCafe is a non-profit "angel" promotional organization that connects artist, venues, organizations, media and fans with each other so that duplication of efforts by local musicians can be eliminated and they can all be promoted as whole in the Pittsburgh region and beyond; and
WHEREAS, membership is completely open-ended and includes local musicians of all levels of achievement and fans of all ages; and
WHEREAS, since it began, AcoustiCafe has started, sponsored, or hosted over a dozen different open stages or other weekly events around the Pittsburgh area and half of them are still active; and
WHEREAS, AcoustiCafe has sponsored or has been involved with over 1,000 local singer-songwriter events and showcases; and
WHEREAS, in December, AcoustiCafe will celebrate its 10th anniversary as a grassroots music organization and as a champion of the Pittsburgh singer-songwriter community.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates AcoustiCafe on the launch of its first compilation CD and thanks its members for ten years of promoting Pittsburgh musicians; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares November 20, 2009, "AcoustiCafe Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
