Ordinance supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title One - Administrative, Article IX - Boards, Commissions and Authorities, Chapter 178 - Community Advisory Boards, by adding Section 178C, entitled, Sustainability Commissions.

§ 178C.01 SUSTAINABILITY COMMSSION.
The Sustainability Commission shall be created to carry on the duties of the Municipal Working Group of the Green Government Task Force, including overseeing and advancing the strategies outlined in the Pittsburgh Climate Action Plan, as unanimously adopted by Council for implementation by Resolution 0545 of 2008, and signed by the Mayor on August 14, 2008.
§ 178C.02 RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Sustainability Commission shall be to:
(a) Ensure the adoption of the Pittsburgh Climate Action Plan and any subsequent revisions.
(b) Serve as a steering commission for the implementation of municipal climate action recommendations.
(c) Guide the process of revising the plan as needed every two years.
(d) Make amendments to the plan as needed.
(e) Advise the community, businesses, and City government on issues relating to sustainability.
(f)(e) Propose ordinances to Council relating to sustainability.
§ 178C.03 MEMBERSHIP.
The Commission shall consist of eleven (11) members. The positions shall be filled as follows:
(a) One member shall be the Sustainability Coordinator.
(b) One member shall be the Energy and Utilities Manager.
(c) One member shall be the Recycling Supervisor.
(d) One member shall be the Urban Forester.
(e) One member shall be a member of the Council appointed by the Council President.
(f) One member shall be a member of the Department of Finance.
(g) One member shall be a member of the Department of Public Works.
(h) One member shall be a member of the Bureau of Building Inspection Department of Public Safety.
(i) One member shall be from the Department of City Planning.
(j) One member shall be from the Mayor's Office.
