Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, a grant from the Department of Justice in the amount of $142,000, and authorizing and directing the Mayor to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with qualified drug treatment programs for drug treatment services, with qualified non-profit agencies for project coordination services, with qualified organizations for community surveying, social, educational, recreational, youth development, and other related services including transfer of salaries and fringe benefits, supply purchases, equipment purchases, travel reimbursement, and other expenses in connection with the City's Operation Weed and Seed Program in the Lawrenceville neighborhood.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, a grant from the Department of Justice in the amount of One Hundred Forty Two Thousand Dollars, for the purpose of successful conduct of the City's Operation Weed and Seed Program in the Lawrenceville neighborhood (U.S. Department of Justice Project Number: 2009-WS-QX-0094).

 

Section 2.  The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a professional services Agreement or Agreements with qualified drug treatment programs for drug treatment services, with qualified non-profit agencies for project coordination services, with qualified organizations for community surveying, social, educational, recreational, youth development, and other related services including transfer of salaries and fringe benefits, supply purchases, equipment purchases, travel reimbursement, and other expenses in connection with the City's Operation Weed and Seed Program in the Lawrenceville neighborhood (U.S. Department of Justice Project Number: 2009-WS-QX-0094), that are required for the successful conduct of the program, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Forty Two Thousand Dollars, chargeable to and payable from the Operation Weed and Seed Account, Account Number 566100; Fund 2460; Organization 102000; Subclass W2009; Project Grant Number G221450; Budget Year 2009. Said Agreement shall be in a form approved by the City Solicitor and shall contain such other terms and conditions as may be in the best interest of the City and are required by the Operation Weed and Seed Program. All payments to be made under this agreement are subject to and contingent upon the receipt by the City of the federal grant money for the Operation Weed and Seed Program.
