WHEREAS, The Steeler Nation is mighty and vast, covering the globe in
black and gold in support of the world's greatest football team; and,
WHEREAS, The Steeler Nation gathers together across the country at welcoming establishments each and every Sunday to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers and share their common kinship, no matter where they may be; and,
WHEREAS, Noreen's Lounge, located at 2799 E. Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada, has long provided for the needs of the Steeler Nation with excellent Pittsburgh cuisine and libations that maintain the traditions of Pittsburgh hospitality in a venue decorated with Myron Cope's mighty, mysterious and all powerful TERRIBLE TOWEL, Steeler Country and Pittsburgh memorabilia to celebrate Steeler victories; and,
WHEREAS, Noreen's Lounge is owned by Sean O'Connor, the nephew of the late Mayor Bob O' Connor, who as a City Councilman , the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh and even as a private citizen, loved his beloved Steelers, traveling with family to Super Bowls and displaying the Terrible Towel with great pride; and,
WHEREAS, Sean O'Connor and Noreen's Lounge is truly worthy of recognition for their efforts to cheer on the mighty Pittsburgh Steelers in the great City of Las Vegas and to provide a home away from home for Pittsburghers who find themselves far from Heinz Field.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Noreen's Lounge as an official Steeler Bar in Las Vegas, an outpost of The Steeler Nation, and commends Noreen's Lounge for carrying on the great tradition of Pittsburgh hospitality, serving The Steeler Nation with distinction and for keeping the spirit of Pittsburgh alive in Las Vegas; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, The Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby confer upon Noreen's Lounge the title of Ambassador Plenipotentiary of The Steeler Nation and confers upon them all rights and title therein and does hereby declare Monday, September 23, 2009, to be "NOREEN'S LOUNGE DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
