WHEREAS, Joe Klemp, a life long Pittsburgher, was born on September 10, 1916, and, will be celebrating his 93rd birthday with a cadre of devoted friends and a loving family ; and,
WHEREAS, Joe Klemp was married to Evelyn Parker, a wonderful woman and devoted wife and mother, and has four children, Larry, Judy, Buddy and DeDe, fourteen grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and was the father- in- law of the late Mayor Bob O'Connor; and,
WHEREAS, Joe Klemp owned the Delp Company, a restaurant supply business, and in his spare time worked diligently and generously with SCORE, a non-profit agency that maximizes the success of existing and emerging small business, to help others in the business community ; and,
WHEREAS, Joe Klemp is a devoted father , grandfather and friend who loves and listens to Pavarotti and is known as a jokester, meeting with his friends every week at Vento's Pizza in East Liberty to spend afternoons telling jokes and sharing fun and camaraderie ; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh
does hereby congratulate Joe Klemp for his length of years and vitality of spirit and sends birthday wishes on the occasion of his 93rd birthday; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, September 10, 2009, to be " JOE KLEMP DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
