Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh thanks the Oyster Theater Company and Theater Panoptikum for creating an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and celebration of Pittsburgh's German heritage through Yinzerspielen; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares the week of September 7, 2009, “Yinzerspielen Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Yinzerspielen is a German-American festival that will take place during the week of September 7th and will feature bilingual original plays, lectures and workshops, German films, musical performances, and a traditional Bavarian breakfast; and
WHEREAS, the project is a joint venture by the Oyster Theater Company, led by Christina M. Kruise and Cory Tamler, and Theater Panoptikum, the official theater group of the University of Augsburg which was founded by Nora Schüssler; and
WHEREAS, the plays, Schüssler's Wer hat Angst vorm bösen Wolf? (Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?) and Tamler's You Can't Get Lost in America were performed in Augsburg in June and have been rewritten and recast for the Pittsburgh production; and
WHEREAS, the international cast will perform the plays on September 9-13 at the Cathedral of Learning's Studio Theatre.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares the week of September 7, 2009, "Yinzerspielen Week" in the City of Pittsburgh.
