Title
Resolution appointing individuals from the Department of Finance to represent the City of Pittsburgh as delegates to the Tax Collection Committee to be established for the Allegheny Central Tax Collection District pursuant to the requirements of Act 32 of 2008.
 
Body
WHEREAS, Section 505 (b) of Act 32 of 2008, 53 P.S. ยง6924.505(b), requires that the governing body of each political subdivision within a tax collection district that imposed an earned income tax prior to July 1, 2009, appoint one voting delegate and one or more alternates by September 15, 2009 to represent the political subdivision on the applicable tax collection committee to be established for that district; and
 
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh ("City") is a member of the Allegheny Central Tax Collection District ("District"), one of four tax collection districts established within Allegheny County, which District also includes as members the School District of Pittsburgh and the Borough of Mount Oliver; and
 
WHEREAS, Timothy O'Donnell, Joseph Lewandowski and Scott Kunka, employed by the Department of Finance, are ready, willing and able to serve as delegates to represent the City on the Tax Collection Committee ("Committee") which will be established for the District;
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.      The following individuals are hereby appointed to represent the City as delegates to the Committee which will be established for the District:
 
      a.      Primary voting delegate:      Timothy O'Donnell, Audit Supervisor;
 
      b.      First alternate voting delegate:      Joseph Lewandowski, Accounts                                                 Receivable Supervisor; and
 
      c.      Second alternate voting delegate:      Scott Kunka, Director of Finance.
 
 
 
Section 2.      If the primary voting delegate cannot be present for a Committee meeting, the first alternate voting delegate shall represent the City at the Committee meeting.  If both the primary voting delegate and the first alternate voting delegate cannot be present for a Committee meeting, the second alternate voting delegate shall represent the City at the Committee meeting.
 
Section 3.      These appointments shall be effective immediately and shall continue until successors are appointed.  Delegates shall be appointed each year in November or December or as soon thereafter as possible.  All delegates shall serve at the pleasure of this Council and may be removed by Council at any time.
