Title

Resolution changing the name of Dean's Field at the base of the Bloomfield Bridge, in the 8th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, to the Officer Paul J. Sciullo II Memorial Field.

Body

WHEREAS, Officer Paul J. Sciullo II was a lifelong Bloomfield resident committed to his community and was also a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception-Saint Joseph Parish; and,

WHEREAS, Officer Paul J. Sciullo II was a great athlete who enjoyed playing baseball at Dean's Field; and,

WHEREAS, Officer Paul J. Sciullo II served the citizens of Pittsburgh heroically as a police officer; and

WHEREAS, the Bloomfield Citizens Council, the Bloomfield Preservation and Heritage Society, Dennis Scullion and the Bloomfield residents wish to honor the Sciullo family by acknowledging Paul J. Sciullo II's life, dedication to community and heroic public service.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation are hereby authorized to change the name of Dean's Field at the base of the Bloomfield Bridge, in the 8^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, to the Officer Paul J. Sciullo II Memorial Field.
