Whereas, the Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) is a non-profit corporation committed to building and strengthening effective community-based organizations through training and individualized consulting services; and
Whereas, CTAC's goal is to develop strong communities by providing technical assistance to neighborhood groups, tenant councils, community based organizations, and community development corporations in Southwestern Pennsylvania; and
Whereas, CTAC's Core Series of seminars sharpens the skills required to build and operate an effective community-based organization through interactive programs specifically customized to meet the needs of community-based organizations within our region, facilitated by skilled professional trainers from corporate and consulting circles; and
Whereas, the mission of the Coalition of Organized Residents of East Liberty (COR) is to organize, advocate and negotiate for residents of low-income housing and promote the quality of life for the low-income residents of East Liberty; and
Whereas, the following members of COR's Executive Board successfully completed CTAC's 2009 Core Series Program. The graduates for 2009 are comprised of:

ROBERT MORTON - BOARD MEMBER

Now, Therefore, be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend CTAC for its dedication to our communities; and
Be It Further Resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim June 23, 2009 as "COR" day in the City of Pittsburgh.
