Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Reverend Vincent D. Moye, Jr. for his outstanding work and faithfulness to the City of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 23, 2009, to be “REVEREND VINCENT D. MOYE, Jr. DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Elder Vincent Moye, Jr. is a fourth generation preacher in his family ordained by Bishop Melvin E. Clark, Sr.; and,

WHEREAS, In 2007, Reverend Vincent Moye, Jr. organized and is Pastor of the Pneuma Center for Biblical Guidance which is a Christ-centered ministry and social services agency serving the western communities of the city of Pittsburgh; and,

WHEREAS, Pneuma Center for Biblical Guidance purchased the first church ever established in the Sheraden neighborhood and restored the historic building with the help of many dedicated men and women; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Vincent Moye, Jr. uses his business degree from Slippery Rock University and professional banking experience to blend the skills of economics and financing with biblical principles to offer creative and useful tools to aide the community in the challenges and management of everyday life; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Vincent Moye, Jr. has a passion for youth in the community which is evident in the many ministries he provides for youth such as having organized the 21st Century After-School Enrichment Program, supporting the city's summer youth program by providing training and housing for thirty youth at the Pneuma Center, being a member of the Student Advisory Board of Slippery Rock University and in his volunteer work with Big Brother/Big Sisters of Southwestern PA; and,

WHEREAS, Reverend Vincent Moye, Jr. is also passionate about the community as a whole which he proves by ministries such as Women's Life Skills Workshops, and Housing and Financial Literacy, and volunteer work as a Board Member of the West End Elliot Citizen Council, and as an advisor to Family Guidance, Inc. ; and,
