Resolution to acknowledge Pittsburgh CLO as a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act.

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera (CLO) is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh CLO is a non-profit organization and is recognized as one of the country's most prestigious nonprofit theaters; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh CLO is defined by vibrant productions, innovative educational programs and bold new works making it a leader in the musical theater industry; and,

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh CLO's commitment to the future of the musical theater art form includes programs such as the Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater <http://www.pittsburghclo.org/pages/clo-academy>, CLO Mini Stars <http://www.pittsburghclo.org/pages/clo-mini-stars>, the nationally acclaimed Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater <http://www.pittsburghclo.org/pages/gene-kelly-awards>, the CLO/CMU New Works Project <http://www.pittsburghclo.org/pages/clo-cmu-new-works-project>, the Construction Center for the Arts <http://www.pittsburghclo.org/pages/construction>, and the CLO Cabaret <http://www.pittsburghclo.org/cabaret>, a unique venue that allows audiences to enjoy CLO-quality entertainment year-round in the Cultural District,
