Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh welcomes the cast and crew of “Say it in Russian” to the film's Pittsburgh premiere; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares May 3, 2009, “Say it in Russian Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the award winning film, "Say it in Russian," will premiere in Pittsburgh on May 3, 2009 at the Carmike 10 Theater; and
 
WHEREAS, "Say it in Russian" features the actors Steven Brand, Faye Dunaway, Agata Gotova, Alex Nesic, Rade Serbedzija and Musetta Vander; and
 
WHEREAS, Jeff Celentano was the film's writer and director, David Rawlins and William Anderson were the editors and Emmanuel Vouniozos was the director of photography; and
 
WHEREAS, "Say it in Russian" has won awards from several film festivals including New York Festivals, Indie Fest in San Diego, the Honolulu International Film Festival, the Myrtle Beach International Film Festival, the Other Venice Film Festival, the Geneva Film Festival,  and the Omaha Film Festival; and
WHEREAS, Pittsburgh is one of several cities where red carpet events will be held as part of an effort to revive and bring attention to quality filmmaking; and
 
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh premiere will feature a 1930's Hollywood style red carpet event that is open to anyone arriving in an antique car or dressed in a costume from that time period; and
 
WHEREAS, the production company, Imperia Entertainment, will donate its share of the event's box office receipts to the Pittsburgh Fallen Heroes Fund.
