Title: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes this outstanding young man, Andrew Sywyj of Troop 6 and commends him for his commitment to the betterment of his community and his great personal achievement.

WHEREAS, Andrew Sywyj began his scouting career as a first grader by joining Tiger Cub Pack 601 at Resurrection Church and went on to earn the Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei Catholic religious awards as well as Cub Scouts' highest honor, the Arrow of Light in 2002; and
 
WHEREAS, upon joining Boy Scout Troop 6, Andrew served as Librarian, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Patrol Leader; and  
 
WHEREAS, in 2004 Andrew was elected to the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society; and  
 
WHEREAS, in addition to scouting activities, Andrew is President of Student Council at Seton-La Salle High School, is an offensive / defensive lineman on the varsity football team, and  involved in both Rebels for Life and the Environmental Club; and
 
WHEREAS, to complete the requirements of Eagle Scout, the Boy Scouts of America's highest honor, Andrews's Eagle Scout Project consisted of coordinating the planning, designing and remodeling of an old baptismal room in the front of the Church of the Resurrection into a Bridal Room.
