Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety to enter into an Agreement with the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority for Cities of the Second Class to establish and fund the Public Safety Demonstration Project, and authorizing the transfer of the sum of $300,000.00 into a restricted special fund to be used for purposes of said Project.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements, in form approved by the City Solicitor, with the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority for Cities of the Second Class ("ICA"), to establish and fund the Public Safety Demonstration Project.  Said agreement(s) shall authorize the establishment of a restricted special fund ("Fund") into which there shall be deposited by the City the sums of $50,000.00 ("City Training Funds") and $250,000.00 ("City Decentralization Funds") which shall be initially used for the training and decentralization of certain Bureau of Building Inspection ("BBI") employees.  Said amounts shall be transferred into the Fund from the following account:
