WHEREAS, founded by Allegheny County Councilman Tom Baker, Get Involved! held its 14th annual Pittsburgh Service Summit, on Thursday, November 16, at the Coro Center for Civic Leadership; and,

WHEREAS, Get Involved! Inc. enables student leaders and young professionals to stay active by providing a variety of leadership focused events, service-oriented programs and courses and inspiring trainings throughout the region; and,
WHEREAS, awards are given annually to local young professionals, ages 21-35, in the non-profit, business, and governmental sectors who dedicate their time and talent to community organizations and who are making a positive difference in the region; and,
WHEREAS, congratulations go out to the following individuals:
Person of the Year: Sally Power and Lynn Banaszak
Child Advocacy Award: Brian Jacobson and Nelson Cooper IV (Pittsburgh Hardball Academy)
Dr. Tom Baker Community Leader Award: Kannu Sahni and Dr. Eric Kofmehl
Emerging Leader Award: Mikhaila Fogel
Western PA Rising Stars: Chastity Bey, Joey Brantle, Morgan Cable, Sara Caric,
Corey DeSantis, Jarah Doose, Cody Gill, Samantha Gooch, Carly Martin, Erin McMaster,
Ariel Meadows, Reagan Mickey, Katherine Miller, Ehryn Ortega, Lindsey Aquino-Robles, Vince Russo, Lexi Stevenson, Jessica Vogliano, and Katlyn Weiser; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Get Involved! Inc. for encouraging young adults to become more active and engaged in their communities, and for organizing the annual Pittsburgh Service Summit; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 to be “Get Involved! Inc. Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
