WHEREAS, Rabbi Danny Schiff has served as a member of the Ethics Hearing Board since his appointment in 2006; and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Schiff will be retiring from his position on the Board; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his work with the Agency for Jewish Learning, Rabbi Schiff has been with Temple B'nai Israel in White Oak since 1993; and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Schiff is well known for his scholarship in Jewish law and his articles have been published in several books and journals; and
WHEREAS, Rabbi Schiff is married to Anne and the couple has two children, David and Adina.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh thanks Rabbi Danny Schiff for his service to the Ethics Hearing Board and wishes him well in future endeavors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares December 16, 2008, "Rabbi Danny Schiff Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
