WHEREAS, the mission of the House of Infiniti Pittsburgh is to enhance the health and welfare of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender youth of color through education , leadership, sportsmanship, integrity and unity; and,
WHEREAS, established in August 2006, the House of Infiniti has been dedicated to HIV and AIDS awareness in the GLBT community, winning awards for leadership and community service and promoting its mission in the general community; and,
WHEREAS, the House of Infiniti, with support from the Lambda Foundation, the Pittsburgh Aids Task Force, the Positive Health Clinic of Allegheny General Hospital, Planned Parenthood of Western PA , the GLCC and the Persad Center will present their 3rd Annual World AIDS Day Community Ball on December 6 at the Hazelwood YMCA ; and,
WHEREAS, the 3rd Annual World Aids Day Community Ball called the "Child's Play" Ball will feature a special screening and panel discussion of the award winning 2005 GLBT film "HOW DO I LOOK" by Wolfgang Bush of New York which is about the underground House Ball community ; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the importance of the work of the House of Infiniti Pittsburgh and commends them for their 3rd Annual World Aids Day Celebration - 2008; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, December 6, 2008, to be "HOUSE OF INFINITI PITTSBURGH DAY" in the City of Pittsburgh.
