Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Reverend Paige for his commitment to the ministry, and his relentless dedication to our communities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim October 25, 2008, to be designated, “Reverend Delano R. Paige Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, in 1972, Reverend Paige received his call to preach the gospel; and in 1973 he was licensed and ordained to pastor the St. John Baptist Church in Lawrence, Pennsylvania. Reverend Paige went on to pastor full-time at the Second Baptist Church in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, in 1984 Reverend Paige was installed into the pulpit of the Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, and through his leadership the church has tripled in its membership and ministry. Many ministries have been added to the church under the pastorate of Reverend Paige's guidance and they include: the Evangelism Ministry and the Media Ministry; and
 
WHEREAS, Reverend Paige has preached and taught the gospel all over this country and he has ministered overseas in several countries in Africa. He is a past President of the Eastern Region of the Progressive National Baptist Convention and a board member of Lott Carey; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Paige earned his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and has also matriculated at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He is married to the former Laura Bell and he is the father of seven children.
