Title
Resolution authorizing the City to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, in the amount of $10,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development provides grant monies for the purchase and training of one canine dog; and

WHEREAS, the City's Bureau of Police has applied for and received a grant for the period of July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development; and

WHEREAS, the parties now wish to enter into a grant agreement setting for the duties and responsibilities of the parties.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor and the Chief of Police are hereby authorized to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for the receipt of grant monies in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00). These funds will be used to purchase and training of one canine dog. The Grant Agreement shall be approved as to form and substance by the City Solicitor and monies shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund: account 450500, fund 2940, organization code 230000, project PR10028, budget year 2008, Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Police.

Section 2. The Chief of Police, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby further authorized to enter into agreement or agreements, contract or contracts, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development as outlined in Section 1 of this resolution.
