Body
WHEREAS, HR 2231, the Medicare Access to Complex Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Act of 2007, amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to exempt complex rehabilitation products and assistive technology products from the Medicare competitive acquisition program; and
WHEREAS, HR 2231 would allow clinicians and physicians to determine which complex rehab companies best serve the complex needs of their clients; and
WHEREAS, under current requirements, many complex rehab suppliers trusted by clinicians and physicians do not receive contracts which leads to reduced competition in ensuring continued quality service and diversity in product choices to meet individual needs; and
WHEREAS, HR 2231 would give clinicians and physicians the ability to recommend and prescribe complex rehabilitative products from local and qualified complex rehab companies who also service those products; and
WHEREAS, HR 2231 has 57 cosponsors including Representatives Altmire, Kanjorski, Murphy, and Sestak of Pennsylvania.
Title

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution shall be transmitted to Representative Doyle.
