Title
Resolution providing for the creation of the Green Initiative Trust Fund (GITF) and setting conditions for the deposit and expenditure of such funds.
Body
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follow:
Section 1. That the City Controller is hereby authorized and directed to create a trust fund entitled "The Green Initiative Trust Fund" (GITF) into which shall be deposited any funds appropriated for such purpose in the annual Operating Budget, as well as any Grant Funds obtained by the City to advance green initiatives.
Section 2. Any funds accumulated into the trust fund may be used to promote energy conservation and efficiency, including but not limited to the following purposes:
Implementation of findings from the Green Government Task Force
Energy Audits for City owned facilities
LEED Certifications
Terms and conditions of local, state and federal grants
Capital improvements to City-owned facilities
Section 3. The Mayor and the Director of City Information Systems are hereby further authorized to enter into an Agreement(s) or Contract(s) and/or utilize existing Agreement(s) and/or Contract(s), in form approved by the City Solicitor, and to make all legitimate expenditures required under any such terms and conditions. Funding in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) shall be transferred into the GITF Fund 2885, Organization 201000, Subclass 600, Budget Year 2010, from the 2008 City Operating Budget, Non-Departmentals - Citywide, Organization 999200, Subclass 160, Account 568100, Utilities.
