WHEREAS, since 1988, Emmy Award recipient Dave Crawley has reported more than 3,000 "KD Country" feature stories on KDKA-TV; and,
WHEREAS, many of these stories have cast a spotlight on the City of Pittsburgh in particular and promoted a wide array of facilities and programs ranging from the Frick Environmental Center and Oliver Bath House to the Roving Art Cart and Great Race; and,
WHEREAS, Dave has been extremely active in the Pittsburgh community, supporting numerous organizations including the Alzheimer's Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Animal Rescue League; and,
WHEREAS, while he was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and has lived in various U.S. cities over the years, the Squirrel Hill resident truly considers Pittsburgh to be his "hometown;"

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Dave Crawley for two decades of contributions to the city of Pittsburgh; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh proclaims that Tuesday, April 29, 2008, during the week of his 20th anniversary celebration with KDKA-TV, be hereby declared "Dave Crawley Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
