Title: WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Passion Women's Full-Contact Football team was formed in March 2002 with the mission of teaching life lessons through sport; and WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Passion competes in the seven year old, 37 team National Women's Football Association in the Northern Conference, playing an 8 game regular season schedule and is the national league leader in game attendance; and WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Passion believe the privilege of participating in a sport provides the opportunity to cultivate core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Responsibility, Leadership, Integrity, Sacrifice, Hard work, Loyalty, Dedication and Courage; and WHEREAS, All Pittsburgh Passions players work full-time jobs in and around the city, practicing 3 - 4 times per week, and still the team is deeply active in the community year-round, participating in over 100 events and having formed the Passion For Life Foundation, which supports the DREAMS mentoring program for young girls in the classroom; an...

WHEREAS,  The Pittsburgh Passion Women's Full-Contact Football team was formed in March 2002 with the mission of teaching life lessons through sport; and
 
WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Passion competes in the seven year old, 37 team National Women's Football Association in the Northern Conference, playing an 8 game regular season schedule and is the national league leader in game attendance; and

WHEREAS, In 2007 season, led by Captains Lisa Horton, Melissa Yeck, Jennifer Moody, JoJo Warner, Sarah Young, and Beth Amato, the team completed the regular season undefeated with a record of 8 -- 0 and qualified for playoffs for the first time; and
 
WHEREAS, The undefeated Pittsburgh Passion will host the first round of playoffs against the Erie Illusion on June 23rd at George Cupples Stadium on the South Side;
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby  CONGRATUALTE the Pittsburgh Passion Women's Full-Contact Football team for their undefeated 2007 season and first round playoff bid; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday June 23, 2007, PITTSBURGH PASSION DAY in the City of Pittsburgh.
