Title
Resolution declaring that certain City property shall be combined to create a new City park named the "Grandview Scenic Byway Park."

Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 589 of 2005, City Council directed the Mayor to engage the City Solicitor and the Directors of the Departments of Parks and Recreation and Finance to create a new City park named the "Grandview Scenic Byway Park" comprised of a string of certain existing small parks and additional City and publicly-owned properties in the Mount Washington Section of the City; and

WHEREAS, the existing City parks, other City-owned property, and additional Three Taxing Body property are further described in EXHIBIT A, which is attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, the addition of the Three Taxing Body property to the Grandview Scenic Byway Park is necessarily made contingent upon all necessary approvals by Allegheny County and the Pittsburgh Public School District and the transfer of all of their respective rights, title, and interest in such properties; and

WHEREAS, the City intends to maintain the names of existing City parks as separate links coming together with the aforementioned additional public property to collectively form the Grandview Scenic Byway Park; and

WHEREAS, the City now desires to officially dedicate the parcels described in EXHIBIT A as comprising "Grandview Scenic Byway Park" for public park use.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.      It is hereby declared that the above-described parcels in EXHIBIT A shall hereafter officially be dedicated for park purposes as the Grandview Scenic Byway Park subject to the provisions of Section 2 herein.

Section 2.        The addition to Grandview Scenic Byway Park of the parcels that are currently identified as being owned by the Three Taxing Bodies in EXHIBIT A is made contingent upon all necessary approvals by Allegheny County and the Pittsburgh Public School District and the transfer of all of their respective rights, title, and interest in such properties.

Section 3.      The City intends to maintain the existing City parks (including names) as separate links coming together with the aforementioned additional public property to collectively form the Grandview Scenic Byway Park.
