Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
      
Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Contract or Contracts, in a form approved by the City Solicitor: UPMC shall provide on-going claims management for service related injuries and/or illnesses to CITY employees under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act.  UPMC shall render comprehensive claims management services for CITY employees on an as-needed basis, shall maintain complete records retention of all reported claims on behalf of the City, shall prepare and deliver all appropriate benefit payments to claimants, shall prepare and file all claims reports as required by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Workers' Compensation, shall assist in the preparation and filing of all annual reports as required by the State and shall provide the City with reports on injuries and associated costs on an as needed basis. UPMC shall provide all claims management and other services as agreed upon in the contract made between the City of Pittsburgh and UPMC on January 1, 2006 at a cost not to exceed $ 526,333 (Five Hundred Twenty Six Thousand Three Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars), chargeable to and payable from Code Account 44-9, Employee Expense Workers' Compensation Program Medical, Index Code 004499, Account 574300, Fund 1000, organization 999300, Sub Class 040 and Budget Year 2006, Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission.
