Title: WHEREAS, in June 1979, Patricia (Pat) Crawford began her career with the Pittsburgh Public Schools as the Director of Information Services; and WHEREAS, during Pat's 26 years of service to the Pittsburgh Public Schools her mantra has been "that effective communications must be factual, honest, timely and delivered to the right audience" which she has been able to follow with professionalism, integrity and a keen sense of humor; and WHEREAS, she has been the lifeblood of many partnerships and collaborations that thrived during the eighties and nineties with the objective to always show off the students and teachers and to give those who excelled their due; and WHEREAS, Pat is a highly respected communicator, serving many years as a member of the American Association of School Administrators Press Corps, past President of the Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association and currently as Vice President of the Northeast Region of the National School Public Relations Associat...

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh thanks Patricia Crawford for her distinguished years of dedication and service to the Pittsburgh Public Schools including the children, teachers, parents and staff and wish her much happiness in her retirement.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Tuesday, October 4, 2005, is declared "Patricia Crawford Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
