WHEREAS, "Dress for Success Pittsburgh" is celebrating its Grand Opening at the Regional Enterprise Tower in Pittsburgh, Friday, September 8, 2005, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony September 9, 2005.
WHEREAS, "Dress for Success Pittsburgh" is a volunteer driven non-profit organization that assists economically disadvantaged women transitioning into the mainstream workforce; and
WHEREAS, women are referred to "Dress for Success Pittsburgh" by social, health, employment training and placement, government and faith based organizations located in Allegheny and surrounding counties; and
WHEREAS, "Dress for Success Pittsburgh" focuses on Empowering woman to get and keep a job that begins a career. It all starts with a suit and image consulting from the "Dress Boutique" to prepare her for the interview or first day on the job; and
WHEREAS, "Dress for Success Pittsburgh" is one of 77 affiliates for Dress for Success Worldwide, serving more than 200,000 women with programs focusing on life skills, such as work place etiquette, stress management and financial planning; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend "Dress for Success Pittsburgh" for knowing the importance of first impressions in the professional world.
