Title: Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends the efforts that Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has taken to serve the community as a long-standing destination for knowledge, entertainment and social interaction. Now, therefore, be it further resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare September 2005, to be "Library Appreciation Month" in the City of Pittsburgh. Please visit your local library to register for a library card.

Whereas, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has served Pittsburgh residents in 20 neighborhood locations for over 110 years; and
 
Whereas, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is an essential community anchor, providing programs that promote positive change and help neighborhoods flourish; and
 
Whereas, recent revitalization efforts have embraced the future, creating technologically advanced facilities that have been molded to meet specific community needs; and
 
Whereas, these improvements have guarded Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's rich history while creating state-of-the-art facilities that are accessible, yet comfortable destinations for all ages.

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends the efforts that Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has taken to serve the community as a long-standing destination for knowledge, entertainment and social interaction.
