• Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends and congratulates all of the participants of the 2005 Pennsylvania Senior Games. NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, August 30, 2005 to be "SeniorInterests Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Senior Games feature a spirit of competition and kinship among Pennsylvania seniors in a safe, productive, mentally and physically stimulating atmosphere; and

WHEREAS, the 25th Annual Pennsylvania Senior Games, held July 13^th through July 17^th at Shippensburg University welcomed 46 senior delegates from various area centers representing the Citiparks SeniorInterests Program; and

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh SeniorInterests contingent brought home a total of 212 medals, including 85 gold, 66 silver and 61 bronze; and

WHEREAS, the top overall medal winner from the SeniorInterests Program was Robert Horton age 84, representing the Lawrenceville Senior Center who won a total of 16 medals consisting of eight gold, six silver and two bronze; and

WHEREAS, the leading female medal winners from the Citiparks SeniorInterests Program were Anna Lambert, age 91 representing the Lawrenceville Senior Center and Elsie Lowen, age 86, representing the Beechview Senior Center; both winning 11 medals; and
