Title
Resolution authorizing the City of Pittsburgh to enter into an agreement with the Pittsburgh Foundation to document a voluntary commitment from community nonprofit organizations to provide financial assistance to the City.
Body
Whereas, the Pittsburgh Foundation (the "Community Foundation") has as one of its component parts the Pittsburgh Public Service Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation (the "Fund"), which has been created and funded by nonprofit organizations with operations in the City for the purpose of providing limited support to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City, the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority for Cities of the Second Class (the "ICA") and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (the "DCED") have encouraged the nonprofit organizations to create a vehicle to provide support to the City during a period of fiscal crises; and
WHEREAS, the Fund desires to provide voluntary support to the City on a limited basis and the parties now wish to enter into an agreement to document the terms of such commitment.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into the Agreement attached hereto with the Pittsburgh Foundation to document a voluntary commitment from nonprofit organizations to provide financial assistance to the City. Contributions shall be made by wire transfer to the City's General Fund, Acct. No. 549063383 ABA 043 000 122 at National City Bank or to another account as specified to the Fund by the Controller's Office.
