Whereas, the Shadow Lounge is celebrating their 5^th year of business in the East Liberty community; and

Whereas, The Shadow Lounge was opened by Justin Strong on June 24^th 2000 as a performance lounge and gallery all the while becoming synonymous with Pittsburgh's urban artistic scene; and

Whereas, the Shadow Lounge acts as a platform for young adults to express themselves socially and artistically, while gaining the respect and reputation as a staple in the Pittsburgh Arts Scene; and

Whereas, today, the Shadow Lounge aids in the attraction and retention of young-educated- well traveled adults to the city of Pittsburgh, while financially supporting independent artists and musicians, and at the same time help break down misperceptions of East Liberty.
