Resolution approving Execution of a Contract for Disposition by Sale of Land by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the African American Cultural Center of Greater Pittsburgh for the Sale of Block 9N Lots 5, 8, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25, in the Second Ward of the City of Pittsburgh – 946-974 Liberty Avenue – Council District No. 6 – in Convention Center Project (construction of African American Cultural Center)

Body
Whereas, pursuant to Resolution No. 551, approved May 26, 1981, and in the manner prescribed by the Urban Redevelopment Law, Act of May 24, 1945, P.L. 991, as amended, the Redevelopment Proposal for Redevelopment Area No. 46 in the Second Ward of the City of Pittsburgh was approved; and

Whereas, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh has requested authorization to execute a Contract for Disposition by Sale of Land by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the African American Cultural Center of Greater Pittsburgh in connection with the sale of Block 9N Lots 5, 8, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 for $1.00, said property being located in the Second Ward of the City of Pittsburgh in Redevelopment Area No. 46; and

Whereas, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh believes that the proposed Contract is in the best interest of the City of Pittsburgh and desires to give its approval in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. That execution of the Contract for Disposition by Sale of Land by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the African American Cultural Center of Greater Pittsburgh in connection with the sale of Block 9N Lots 5, 8, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 for $1.00, said property being located in the Second Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, be and the same is hereby approved, said Contr...
