Resolution authorizing and directing the City Controller to create a special Trust Fund, to be designated as the “Clean Pittsburgh Trust Fund”, for the deposit of cash and contributions and authorizing the use of the funds deposited therein by the Department of Public Works for any and all expenses associated with the operation and implementation of projects related to community clean-ups and clean-neighborhood projects.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The City Controller is hereby authorized and directed to create a special trust fund, to be designated as the “Clean Pittsburgh Trust Fund”, for the deposit of cash and contributions and authorizing the use of the funds deposited therein by the Department of Public Works for any and all expenses associated with the operation and implementation of projects related to resource development, beautification, cleanups, education, public awareness, and litter prevention, as well as any other activities consistent with the mission of the Clean Pittsburgh Commission.

(A) The City Controller is hereby authorized and directed to create a special trust fund, to be designated as the “Clean Pittsburgh Trust Fund”, into which trust fund there shall be deposited any and all proceeds received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's 904 Performance Grant program that exceed the anticipated proceeds budgeted by the Department of Public Works. These proceeds are to be used by the Commission to leverage additional funding from foundations, corporations, and other entities.
(B) Further, the fine for littering in the City of Pittsburgh will be raised from the current $15 to $25. The difference in the amount paid to the City shall be deposited into the “Clean Pittsburgh Trust Fund” to support the work of the Commission.
