WHEREAS, WQED Multimedia, geographically located in Oakland yet possessing an impact felt worldwide, is celebrating its 50^th Anniversary this year; and

WHEREAS, WQED is this nation's first community-owned television station; and

WHEREAS, WQED Multimedia provides educational, cultural and informational programming, products and services for local and national audiences; and

WHEREAS, in the last 50 years, WQED has grown to include WQED tv13, WQED fm89.3, WQEDfm89.7/Johnstown, a publishing division that includes Pittsburgh Magazine, local and national television and radio productions, a website, and the WQED Education Resource Center; and

WHEREAS, it is the Council of the City of Pittsburgh's great honor to "Stay Connected" with WQED Multimedia.
