WHEREAS, Ted and Eileen Fischer met at the US Steel Building, where she was a parking cashier and he was a plumber in the new building. This meeting led them to marriage on May 11, 1973, and;

WHEREAS, Ted is a retired life member of the Plumbers local #27 and retired from Allegheny County as the Foreman at South Park, and;

WHEREAS, Eileen is in her 48^th year as a food service worker with the Pittsburgh Public Schools ensuring our communities’ children are well fed and ready to learn, and;

WHEREAS, Ted and Eileen enjoy spending time with their family. Having taken their kids and grandchildren on vacations to Rehoboth Beach every year. They have also taken their family to Disney and on cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean and Hawaii, and;

WHEREAS, you can find Ted and Eileen on most Saturday mornings having breakfast at an Eat-n Park, their favorite breakfast spot, and;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Ted and Eileen Fischer on their 50^th Wedding Anniversary.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, May 11th, 2023, to be “Ted and Eileen Fischer Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
