WHEREAS, Imani Christian Academy is a private Christian School. Located in the East Hills of Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, Imani Christian Academy is comprised of an Elementary, Middle, and High School; and
WHEREAS, Imani Christian Academy's mission is to serve all students, especially the underserved, transforming them spiritually, academically, socially, and physically and launching them into lives of service and contribution; and
WHEREAS, this year the Imani Boys' Basketball teams were Section Champions and WPIAL Champions; and
WHEREAS, the Imani Boys' Basketball Team also won the PIAA State Championship on March 23, 2023, at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, City Council, and residents of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, wish to acknowledge and applaud the magnitude of the Imani Christian Academy Boys' Basketball teams' achievement; and
WHEREAS, a special thank you to all the coaches for pouring determination, academic excellence, love, and character-building principles into their players producing remarkable young men and scholar-athletes; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh, the President of Council, and the District 9 City Councilman do hereby proclaim April 25, 2023, Imani Christian Academy Boys' Basketball Championship Day in the City of Pittsburgh. We also proclaim on this day, April 25, 2023, that the Imani Christian Academy Boys' Basketball Team has earned respect and admiration of the City of Pittsburgh and the State of Pennsylvania for its extraordinary achievement.
