WHEREAS, the Polish Hill Civic Association (“PHCA”) is a charitable organization dedicated to serving the Polish Hill community in Pittsburgh’s East End since 1969; and,

WHEREAS, the Polish Hill Civic Association works to respect and preserve the sense of community in Polish Hill while promoting economic and housing development opportunities, and improving the quality of life for the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Polish Hill Civic Association works to support residents by coordinating volunteers to clean and maintain three community gardens and other green spaces, by working improve the safety and accessibility of our roads and sidewalks for everyone, by promoting local businesses at its Polish Hill Arts Fest, as well as many more neighborhood activities; and,
WHEREAS, the Polish Hill Civic Association desires to have small games for the purpose of raising funds to continue serving residents of the community; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize the Polish Hill Civic Association to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.
