Resolution amending Resolution 305 of 2022, entitled “Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into a License Agreement with the Allegheny County to provide access for the City to detour bicycle trail facilities during certain City construction activities along McKean Street.” to modify the language to authorize a new agreement with the County for further trail detours.

WHEREAS, the City, in anticipation of certain construction activities scheduled to occur in the location of 129 McKean Street, has, through its Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, ordered the closure of South Second Street between McKean Street and the Riverfront; and

 

WHEREAS, such closure has disrupted the normal route of bicyclists seeking access to the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and the City wants to utilize certain property of Allegheny County in the 17th Ward of Pittsburgh, 

as a temporary, replacement bicycle passageway for that purpose and certain other purposes related to construction activities; and

 

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is willing to grant such temporary use and the City wishes to enter into a license agreement providing for the use.

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into a License Agreement or Agreements with the Allegheny County to provide access for the City to detour bicycle trail facilities and perform certain other construction activities related to City construction along McKean Street, as further provided in the attached Exhibit A.
