WHEREAS, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protect and service our communities and who are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation; and,

WHEREAS, FOP Fort Pitt Lodge #1 is hosting its Annual Retirement and Awards Dinner Party Friday, March 3, 2023 at 1070 Banksville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216; and,
WHEREAS, the following 40 FOP members from the class of 1970 are being honored for their 50 years of membership in the FOP: Howard Ball, Frank J. Demarco, James J Fazio, Robert C. Hand, Dennis P Horgan, Peter F. Kust, Ronald R. May, Douglas A. McMeekin, Willard J. Rice, George W. Roeschenthaler, Joseph V. Scaaf, Robert A. Schaeffer, Harry R. Scheller, Edward J. Scholze, Edward Sorace, Joseph W. Abel, David R. Allman, Keith H. Andrews, John A Bauer, John J.Bello, James N Debold, Carlo N Defazio, Barry W. Fox, Robert J Hajduk, Robert W Kaczmarek, George C Loeffler, Ronald J Marak, George E McCartney, James F O'Brien, Walter R Oggier, James W Owens, Lewis R Rauhecker, Raymond Sarnowski, Richard J. Schonbachler, Clinton J Smith, William W. Thomas, Richard G. Vollberg, David J. Waddle, Ronald K.Waid, Glenn F. Winkowski; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does herby recognize the class of 1970 for their 50 years of membership in the FOP; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, March 3, 2023 to be “FOP Fort Pitt Lodge #1 Class of 1970 Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
