Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and Industrial Arts Workshop Inc., for the creation of artwork on land which is owned by the URA and which is intended to be transferred to the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Urban Redevelopment Authority currently owns the property known as Summerset at Frick Park, located along Shelburne Lane in the Squirrel Hill South neighborhood of Pittsburgh;

 

WHEREAS, the Urban Redevelopment Authority has commissioned Industrial Arts Workshop, Inc., to design, fabricate, and install artwork on this;

 

WHEREAS, the URA intends to transfer the Artwork and the Site to the City and the City intends to accept the transfer of the same, via separate agreement, after completion of the Artwork in accordance with the terms hereof;

 

WHEREAS, the Parties wish to enter into an Agreement to set forth the terms of the Artist’s participation in the Project and in the design, fabrication, transportation, and supervision of the installation of the Artwork; and

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and Industrial Arts Workshop Inc., for the creation of artwork on land which is owned by the URA and which is intended to be transferred to the City of Pittsburgh.
