Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works and/or the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure to enter into a License Agreement for a period of five (5) years, with two (2) five (5) year renewal options in which the City grants to Allegheny GoatScape a right to utilize grazing goats upon particular City property and/or Right-of-Way in specified locations Citywide.

WHEREAS, Allegheny GoatScape is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to use goats as a vegetation management option; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to restore Pittsburgh’s urban forests; and
WHEREAS, the wishes to permit Allegheny GoatScape to utilize goats as a vegetation management option to manage the spread of invasive plant species; and
WHEREAS, the grazing goats will access areas that humans and machines cannot while also eating plants and seeds harmful to humans and the environment; and
WHEREAS, the grazing goats do not release combusted pollutants or expose the public to dangerous chemicals;
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works and/or the Director of the Department of Mobility and Infrastructure are hereby authorized to enter into a License Agreement for a period of five (5) years, with two (2) five (5) year renewal options in which the City grants to Allegheny GoatScape a right to utilize grazing goats upon particular City property and/or Right-of-Way in specified locations Citywide.
