WHEREAS, since 2014, Jennifer Reitzell, Vice President & Manager PNC Charitable Trusts, has helped secure over $200,000 through the PNC Charitable Trusts, to support the youth who visit the Mount Washington Recreation Center; and,

WHEREAS, PNC Charitable Trusts implements the legacies set forth by the individual donors who established the trust and the select regions to benefit from the grants based on the donor’s preference. $65 million in grants are issued annually to recipients in the fields of health, social services, education, religion, the arts and much more; and,
WHEREAS, through these grants, the Mount Washington Recreation Center, with the help of YouthPlaces and the Pittsburgh Contingency, was able to incorporate College Readiness & Career Development Programs and Academic Enrichment Instruction, including needed supplies. In addition, numerous renovations were made to the building such as kitchen upgrades, new flooring in the student space, new windows on the second and third floors, improvements to the multi-purpose room, and an upgraded gym floor; and,
WHEREAS, along with being passionate about Pittsburgh, Jennifer is also an avid ultra-marathon runner. Her love for running and her compassion for others led her to join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training in 2011; and,
WHEREAS, Jennifer is most dedicated to her family, her pets and to her Northside community where she resides; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby thank Jennifer Reitzell for her dedication to the City of Pittsburgh and her heart for the youth in our city; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, November 19, 2022 to be “Jennifer Reitzell Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
