Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Public Safety to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the United States Department of Justice for the purpose of receiving and spending grant funds in the amount of FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS AND TWENTY ONE CENTS ($539,580.21) for the purpose of providing funding for training and capacity expansion for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Department of Public Safety for crisis response.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with the United States Department of Justice in order to receive a grant award from the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Connect and Protect for FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS AND TWENTY ONE CENTS (539,580.21) for the purpose of providing funding for training and capacity expansion for the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and Department of Public Safety for crisis response Monies from the grant agreement shall be deposited into the Grants Trust Fund account 2129400409.45703.00.

 

Section 2.                     The Mayor and the Director of Public Safety, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are further authorized to enter into an Agreement, or Contract, or utilize existing Agreements or Contracts, to make all legitimate expenditures required by said Agreement(s) as outlined in Section 1. Said expenditures shall not exceed FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY NINE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS AND TWENTY ONE CENTS ($539,580.21) chargeable to and payable from the appropriate expense account in the Grants Trust Fund job number 2129400409.50000.00.

 

Section 3.                     The local in-kind match of ONE HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED SIXTEEN DOLLARS AND NINETY SIX CENTS ($164,416.96) shall come from the staff salaries over the next three years.
