Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Finance to enter into a permanent easement with the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) for the installation, maintenance, repair, operation, and removal of a sewer line on city-owned property (Parcel ID 25-P-150-0-01).

WHEREAS, the Grantor is the owner in fee simple of that certain parcel of real property (the “Property”) located in the 6th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being known as Brereton St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219, being identified as Block and Lot No. 0025-P-00150-0000-01 in the Allegheny County Department of Real Estate, having acquired said property by City Treasurer’s Deed recorded on December 3, 1965 in Treasurer’s Deed Book Volume 10, Page 52 (”Property”);
WHEREAS, PWSA operates a water and sewer system in the City of Pittsburgh;
WHEREAS, PWSA currently has a sewer line over, upon and through the Property; and
WHEREAS, PWSA will abandon and backfill the existing sewer line as it is no longer in service; and
WHEREAS, PWSA seeks a new location on the Property in order to install a new sewer line to connect with PWSA’s sewer system; and
WHEREAS, PWSA desires a non-exclusive right of way and easement over, upon and through the Property for the purposes of installing, maintaining, repairing, operating, and abandoning in place a sewer line, as particularly shown in Exhibit A and further described in Exhibit B (“Easement”); and
WHEREAS, in consideration of granting the Easement PWSA will pay to the City a one-time, lump-sum payment totaling Three Thousand Dollars and zero cents ($3,000.00);
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Finance to enter into a permanent easement with the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) for the installation, maintenance, repair, operation, and removal of a sewer line on city-owned property (Parcel ID 25-P-150-0-01).
Section 2. In consideration of granting the easement(s), PWSA will pay to City a one-time lump-sum payment totaling Three Thousand Dollars and Zero cents ($3,000.00). The amount will be paid by check to Treasurer, City of Pittsburgh and deposited to the following account: 11101.107000.45.45107
The Easement and Easement Area are depicted on the drawings that are attached hereto as Exhibit A.
